A teaching course over three days to get you started yourself on the path of wordpress design…

One-to-one hands on guidance to whatever level, tailor shaped to your requirements. This of course is something that I can deliver within Palma, but should there be interest beyond that I could consider the use of video links and also skype.

he design here is, of course, one example of what can be done. I also have a page at 3gens.biz where there are a few more designs. That site is functional and live but not a ‘working site’, but on it is possible to switch themes to see different designs. Each design would be tweaked for a specific site. And another theme is uploaded for display here.

I have been interested in web development for some time, and began designing my own pages many years ago. Over time I have worked a lot with WordPress and use that as the framework. I want to make something accessible, affordable, and easy for the person to change themselves. Once designed I expect that the site should be maintained by the person who paid for it.

So with all of that, hope I can help you find a good expression on the web.

The pages on ‘co-operation’ outline one way of getting on the web at a very reasonable price.

[BTW: this opening page is working off a 'blog' structure. Newer entries push the one before lower down. It can work well too being used as a 'news updates' type of page.]

his site is a working site but also serves as an example of what can be developed. The theme (layout / colours etc.) can be changed, the opening page (Home) on this site is set as a blog. There are two ways that can be used – as what is known as a blog (web-log) giving regular updates and each update can be posted in a different category, or as a more formal ‘what is new’ type of news update.

It could equally have been set up with one of the other pages as the home page – for example the ‘co-operation’ page.

Choices and options… flexibility…

If we had posted this blog as a ‘sticky’ it would always have been at the top of this first page – even when there were newer posts. It is sometimes desirable to do that, if there was some news or communication that you needed to make sure was always read.

I have also set up a second set of pages on the same basis as a blog on this site. The heading ‘short posts’ is exactly that.

What is the difference between a ‘post’ and a ‘page’? Basically when you look at the posts they are dated and each ‘page’ of posts (blogs/news items – however you wish to use them) collects the most recent items together in date order and posts them. A page is a static and undated page on a subject.

Mix and match.

Well here again is another example of what can be put together with wordpress! Colors can be changed easily…
